You would think they would choose less obvious bikes. My husband loves when he sees guys in the hood riding around on $4000 mountain bikes.

Anon 11:57,

Never get tired of the POV that you're only entitled to acknowledge the seedier side of the neighborhood (or in your case even call it "the hood" or "el barrio") unless you're an old-timer or a person of color, I'm guessing.

While you clearly seem to perceive there is some standard out there that Leigh is violating, I'd love to hear you elaborate on it so we can truly understand your reasoning (or lack thereof).

White, did my name give it away? It is pretty whitebread. I actually don't think Cole is much of a hood by comparison. Maybe we need a place to list our "hood" qualifications. I think I would qualify.

Hah! Hood qualifications. Keep thinking of the movie swingers...

Mike: What the f*ck are you carrying a gun for? What, in case somebody steps to you, Snoop Dogg? Haven't you seen Boyz N The Hood? Now one of us is going to get shot.

Sue: Hey man, you're not from here, alright. You don't know how it is. I grew up in L.A.

Trent: You grew up in Anaheim!

Sue: Whatever, man. It's different out here. It's not like New York, Mikey.

Mikey: Yeah, you're right, it's not like New York. Out here you can avoid trouble. It's not like you live in Compton, Sue, with bullets whizzing by your head. You live in a good neighborhood, man. In New York trouble finds you.
